The Irish Independent 1990 Tipped Tenor Impresario Maurice Cassidy likes to keep a low profile, but he can surely pick talent. He looks after the considerable interests of Colin Wilkinson, of Les Miserables and Phantom fame, and the burgeoning international career of Maura O'Connell. His latest find is a Kinsale-born tenor, Finbar Wright, who, many believe, is going to be the hottest tenor around over the next few years. Already a veteran of last year's Wexford Opera Festival and the Singer of the World Competition in Cardiff, Finbar toured this year with Phil Coulter and his orchestra for their concerts in Dublin, Cork and Belfast. Fitting, therefore, that Phil has just produced Finbar's lastest LP, whih will be issued in February of next year. As a teaser and a perfect Christmas present for anyone who likes good singing, CBS records have issued a single record and cassette of Finbar's giving his all on "O Holy Night" and "Panis Angelicus" - at L1.99 it's a snip.
