(Dec 2007) I was delighted to hear that so much money was raised for the Marymount Hospice and I thank you all sincerely for the generosity and effort that went into this charitable endeavour. I am honoured as always by the multitude of gifts and cards that were sent individually to me in celebration of Christmas and the friendship that binds us all around the world at this time. I wish you all a peaceful time with your family and friends and happiness and joy in all that you do in the next year.

Regarding Meet&Greets after concerts
"I love the m&gs and I think it may be the venues that have problems with them. Many have curfews and the staff will only work up to a certain time.
Generally, we are all delighted to do them when they are set up for us, unless we have a particularly grueling schedule or have to travel a long distance after the show. It is important that everybody knows that we do not decide on this - it is nearly always a venue issue!!!"

I want to express my sincere gratitude to all for sending me so many fabulous cards and good wishes for Christmas. I also appreciate the fact that so many of you dug deep into your pockets to support some of the charities that I consider worthwhile and deserving of our help. For many of these charities, a little goes a long way, and the contributions help them do wonderful things for people who are less fortunate than we are ourselves.
The Irish Tenors are looking forward to another fairly lively tour shortly and I will have to start a fitness regime right now in order to have the stamina to face such a marathon of travel and associated bruhaha!!! Hopefully, no so much of the bru and lots of ha ha!!....

[Regarding the Queen CD] I appreciate the thoughtfulness of putting it together.You obviously know an awful lot about me that I did not realise was out there. When I was a teacher, the students used to kid me about playing Queen at full volume in my car. I have been a fan for years - their harmonies and arrangements are very powerful and energetic.
It was a pleasure to meet you all in NewYork and everybody seemed so relaxed and in such high spirits. These meetings are by nature a little rushed and then I had to make an early exit to say hi to some people who had been asking for me at the stage door. The generosity of the group always astounds me and I try my best to give it to the most deserving causes.
